Quick Summary
Bank of Baroda Specialist Officer recruitment is a rolling, bank-specific hiring channel run directly by Bank of Baroda outside the common IBPS SO exam. Through 2026, concurrent drives have covered 418 IT posts (Full Stack Developer, AI Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Data Scientist, and similar, at Officer/Manager/Senior Manager grades), 166 MSME department posts, 86 Corporate & Institutional Credit posts, and contract-basis specialist engagements — together 670+ vacancies in 2026 so far. Regular posts are selected via an Online Test (Reasoning/Quant/English qualifying, Professional Knowledge for merit) plus Group Discussion/Interview, while many senior and contract posts are filled by interview alone. Salary ranges from about Rs. 48,480 basic (Scale I) up to Rs. 1,35,000+ gross at senior scales. As of July 2026 the most recent drives (IT, MSME, and Credit) have closed; new department-wise notifications are expected to continue through FY2026-27 and should be tracked on the official Bank of Baroda careers page.

Exam overview
Bank of Baroda, one of India's largest public sector banks, recruits Specialist Officers throughout the year via its own independent recruitment drives run directly on bankofbaroda.in — separate from the common IBPS SO exam that covers 11 other PSU banks. Through 2026 alone, Bank of Baroda has floated multiple concurrent specialist drives, including 418 IT posts (Full Stack Developer, AI Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Data Scientist, Finacle Developer, Database Administrator, Enterprise Architect) at Officer, Manager, and Senior Manager grades, 166 posts in the MSME department, and 86 posts in the Corporate & Institutional Credit department, together with periodic contract-basis specialist engagements.
Unlike IBPS SO, most Bank of Baroda SO posts are experience-based lateral hiring rather than a single all-India written exam for freshers — many posts require relevant post-qualification work experience, and selection for regular posts combines a qualifying aptitude test with a Professional Knowledge-driven merit list, Group Discussion, and/or Interview, while several posts are filled purely through interview on a contract basis. Because notifications are released stream-by-stream on a rolling basis rather than one annual cycle, candidates should track the "Current Opportunities" section of the official Bank of Baroda careers page regularly rather than waiting for a single fixed notification date.
Preparation tip
Start with the syllabus topics listed above, then practice timed mock tests and revise previous year questions weekly.
