Exam overview
APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission to recruit officers for Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), Assam Finance Service, and other Group A and Group B gazetted posts in Assam state government. The exam covers 250+ vacancies across departments and is the premier competitive examination for administrative careers in Assam, a strategically important northeast state with diverse tribal groups and unique biodiversity.
APSC CCE preparation requires thorough knowledge of Assam's rich history, tribal culture, Assamese literature, geography of the Brahmaputra valley, tea industry, oil sector, northeast India affairs, and state current events. The five-paper Mains exam includes compulsory General Studies and English papers. Assamese language knowledge gives a significant advantage. Awareness of northeast India geopolitics, insurgency issues, and Assam Accord are frequently tested in state-specific sections.
Preparation tip
Start with the syllabus topics listed above, then practice timed mock tests and revise previous year questions weekly.
