Exam overview
HPSC HCS (Haryana Civil Services) Examination is conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission to recruit officers for Haryana Civil Service (HCS), Haryana Police Service (HPS), Haryana Finance Service, and other Group A and Group B gazetted posts in Haryana state government. The exam has one of the lowest minimum age limits in any state PSC exam at just 17 years, making it accessible to young candidates immediately after graduation, with 150+ vacancies.
HPSC HCS preparation demands comprehensive study of Haryana history, culture, geography, agriculture, rural economy, and state-specific current affairs alongside national-level General Studies. The Mains exam has seven papers including compulsory Hindi Language. Candidates from Haryana who focus on state-specific knowledge have a significant advantage. The Viva-Voce evaluates personality, communication skills, and awareness of Haryana state affairs and governance.
