Exam overview
HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) is the mandatory state-level eligibility exam conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH), Bhiwani, to certify candidates for teaching posts in Haryana government schools across three levels — Level 1 (PRT, classes I–V), Level 2 (TGT, classes VI–VIII), and Level 3 (PGT, classes IX–XII). Around 2.5 lakh candidates applied for the HTET 2026 cycle, reflecting the exam's huge volume and importance for teaching aspirants in the state. Similar to CTET and other state TETs, HTET is purely a qualifying exam whose certificate — now valid for a lifetime — is a prerequisite for applying to Haryana government teacher recruitment drives.
The HTET 2026 notification was released in December 2025 with the application window from 24 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. After the exam was rescheduled once from an earlier proposed date in May 2026, admit cards were finally released on 1 July 2026, and the exam for all three levels was conducted on 4 and 5 July 2026. As of July 2026, the result is awaited and expected around August 2026. Candidates should prepare NCERT-based pedagogy and subject content, and monitor bseh.org.in for the official result announcement and the next HTET cycle.
